Just recently I started my application for Qantas Spirit Of Youth Awards which supports emerging designers. As a jeweller I'm in the Fashion category. Check out My SOYA Profile it has pictures of all my graduate work and a little blurb about my plans for the future.

This piece is titled "Stuck on the Train Again" and yes, you would be correct in assuming the idea came to me whilst stuck on a train.
They often just stop and sit between stations, it tends to happen a lot on the trip from South Kensington to Flinders street... only three stations away but on occasion has taken me 45 minutes!!!! Rather than get frustrated I try and use the time to take inspiration from my surroundings. This design was born as I stared off into the distance of a North Melbourne laneway and saw the all too familiar sight of shoes thrown over the powerlines.
More designs to come in this range... stay tuned!

Happy New Year!
As per usual I've been slack with my blog... So here's something to get it started again in 2013...

"Wishing you had a graffiti decipher app?"
This Urban Art inspired piece celebrates the colour and beauty of the art presented to us throughout our urban landscape.
Thank you Melbourne street artists for the inspiration!
Now... can you decipher what it says?

It's been a week since the launch of my graduate exhibition 'Kaleidoscope' and I've since recovered from the hangover and started to sort out my life again after pouring ALL my energy into this exhibition.... and in the process I've just realised that my blog hasn't had a post in a very long time... so here is a collection of images from the show which is still on display until this Sunday the 25th November at the Northcote Town Hall. Check it out!

We had Andrew Barcham come over to NMIT and take the photos for our graduation catalogue recently.
These two pieces are from my Chaotic Construction series of work using Sterling Silver with 9 Carat Yellow gold for the above torque and oxidised sterling silver with pyrite for the ring below.
It's getting exciting now... there's only a couple of months to go.... and so much work to do! I better get back to the bench!

Wow I've just realised how long its been since I last posted on my blog! I've been incredibly busy creating work for Stone Glint & Bone http://stoneglintandbone.com/ as well as a new shop opening up in the very near future called Swoon https://www.facebook.com/pages/Swoon/129826210468539 as well as returning to study at NMIT to further my skills and work towards my graduate exhibition in November this year.
We are currently in the midst of organising an Auction event to raise funds for this exhibition in which we've all created a piece of jewellery to be auctioned. We have also had some wonderful donations from local renowned jewellers such as William Griffiths, Justine Austin, Tessa Blazey, Roxanne Watts, David Parker and so many other generous talented artisans working here in Melbourne.
The auction is on Wednesday May 9th at The Royal Melbourne Hotel 629 Bourke Street starting at 5.30pm
This year it falls just before Mothers Day! so even if you aren't as obsessed with jewellery as I am, there's still a reason for you to come along... buy some gifts for the people in your life!
