My graduate exhibition 'Kaleidoscope'  is over and will undoubtedly fade into a distant memory soon enough... thank you to those of you who made it to the show while it was on!

I'm a much better facebooker than I am a blogger so if you're also on facebook you may want to check out some of the images of my work which you can find here... http://www.facebook.com/EmilyBecherJewellery
This is one of my pieces titled "Wishing you had a graffiti decipher app?"
Oxidised Sterling Silver, Diamonds, Titanium, Mild Steel, 24ct Gold leaf.

It's been a week since the launch of my graduate exhibition 'Kaleidoscope' and I've since recovered from the hangover and started to sort out my life again after pouring ALL my energy into this exhibition.... and in the process I've just realised that my blog hasn't had a post in a very long time... so here is a collection of images from the show which is still on display until this Sunday the 25th November at the Northcote Town Hall. Check it out!

Here I am again chatting away at the opening, I must have talked to hundreds of people in the few short hours of the launch! Such fun!

We had Andrew Barcham come over to NMIT and take the photos for our graduation catalogue recently.
These two pieces are from my Chaotic Construction series of work using Sterling Silver with 9 Carat Yellow gold for the above torque and oxidised sterling silver with pyrite for the ring below.
It's getting exciting now... there's only a couple of months to go.... and so much work to do! I better get back to the bench!

Saturday 7 April 2012

Wow I've just realised how long its been since I last posted on my blog! I've been incredibly busy creating work for Stone Glint & Bone http://stoneglintandbone.com/ as well as a new shop opening up in the very near future called Swoon https://www.facebook.com/pages/Swoon/129826210468539 as well as returning to study at NMIT to further my skills and work towards my graduate exhibition in November this year.
We are currently in the midst of organising an Auction event to raise funds for this exhibition in which we've all created a piece of jewellery to be auctioned. We have also had some wonderful donations from local renowned jewellers such as William Griffiths, Justine Austin, Tessa Blazey, Roxanne Watts, David Parker and so many other generous talented artisans working here in Melbourne.
The auction is on Wednesday May 9th at The Royal Melbourne Hotel 629 Bourke Street starting at 5.30pm
This year it falls just before Mothers Day! so even if you aren't as obsessed with jewellery as I am, there's still a reason for you to come along... buy some gifts for the people in your life!

Oxidised Sterling Silver Purple Feather Pendant (my donation)

Thursday 5 January 2012

After a bit of lazing about over the Christmas and New Year break I've finally managed to get myself down to the studio and start my range of feather jewellery. I'll be taking a purple feather pendant into my current stockist http://stoneglintandbone.com/ this Sunday with other colours to follow in the coming weeks.
